Hi, My name is leilani!
Welcome to my website, LEILANI LIVE. I am currently a science and technology student who will be attending University of Maryland C/O 2024 as an engineering major. I have been studying classical guitar off and on for about 10 years. In addition to studying classical pieces by Bach, Sor and Vivaldi, I also enjoy playing a variety of other genres by artists like Bruno Mars, Green Day, Jessie J., Michael Jackson and Maroon 5. I have had several opportunities to perform in front of a live audience, beginning with my first recital in June of 2011, where I played "Blackbird" by the Beatles. My first "paid gig", I provided classical music accompaniment to Ms. Carmen Rubin, the author of the children's book, "The Gifted Guitar," as she read to a packed house at a local elementary school.
In the Spring of 2017, me and a few of my closest friends formed an all girl pop band named SHE and we have enjoyed playing many gigs in the Washington D.C. area. While all of the events have been great, none have meant more to me than my benefit concert which I began producing in 2014. It is called A GIFT TO REMEMBER. While I no longer produce the concert, Alzheimer’s awareness is still very near and dear to me. You see, a couple of years ago my grandmother passed away from complications of the disease and I would like to continue to do my part to help raise money and awareness to help the millions who are suffering and those who are caring for our loved ones here in the U.S. You can help too!
