The Walk to End Alzheimer's
Since 2014, I have supported the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by forming my team, TEAM LEILANI and walking in the various walks in Prince George’s County. Over the years TEAM LEILANI has raised more than $7,500 for the Alzheimer’s Association of the National Capital Area. I was also instrumental in getting my school, Oxon Hill High School, involved in the Alzheimer’s movement in 2017 and 2018.
In 2017 and 2018 over 1600 walkers and volunteers joined forces at The National Harbor to raise funds and spread the word about the Fight Against Alzheimer's disease. I was there with my all-girl band SHE as one of the featured performers and it was great to spend time with not only my team members, family and friends but to also meet so many people who care about the Alzheimer's movement.
This year TEAM LEILANI joined forces with my high school, Oxon Hill High School, and we enjoyed the largest turnout ever as students, faculty, cheerleaders and more came out in droves to support the cause.
